“A Shadow of a Shade” is a narration of lifers layered complexity, discussing the impermanence and the importance of remembrance, or lack of. These themes are explored through a selection of work buy the Author Edgar Allan Poe, a man who is gone but still remembered, and whose stories’ meanings can be applied to one’s own life and personal narrative. These narratives are brought together in variable forms of paper, plaster and metal as alternative books as reminders of the importance and evolution of storytelling.
The book was a piece to allow the viewer to interact with the exhibition and to leave their mark on the stories that Edgar Allan Poe had created.
